Description
The Old Portland Courthouse is a grade II listed building dating back to c1904. It is in a wonderful position with panoramic sea views across Chesil Beach and Lyme Bay. The building has been sympathetically converted to a very high standard and many original features remain giving it a unique character.
The living area is all open plan, combining the lounge, dining and kitchen area. The old dock has now been converted to a bar and the whole area is covered with the original parquet flooring. The lounge area has a large flat screen television coupled with Sky HD and a music system and WiFi is enabled throughout. The kitchen is equipped with all the major appliances such as washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher and has granite work surfaces. Also on the ground floor is the entrance hall and a cloakroom with hand basin and toilet.
Take a spiral staircase to the mezzanine lounge and study area which has fantastic views across Chesil Beach, Lyme Bay and Portland Harbour.
The bedrooms are all luxurious with bedroom one having a super king size antique four poster bed and en-suite shower room. Bedroom two is set out as a twin and also has an en-suite shower room, bedroom three is another en-suite double and bedroom four, the attic room, is the last double with double aspect conservation windows. In addition there is another shower room on the first floor.
Outside there is a sun trap of a garden with magnificent panoramic sea views and patio furniture making dining al fresco a must. On street parking is available.

Area details
Fortuneswell covers quite a large area, really from the Heights Hotel at the top of the island with its amazing views along Chesil Beach to the bottom of the hill where it blends into Chiswell. As you descend from the Heights you will see a statue by artist and sculptor Joanna Szuwalska title "The Spirit of Portland". Fortuneswell has many shops and along High Street you will be able to find "Isle of Portland Statues" for sale, all hand made.
