No matter what your interest is in coming to Portland, Portland Hideaway makes a wonderful centre for an active coastal holiday, sightseeing or a time for unwinding and recharging your batteries. If on business and want space to yourself then the Portland Hideaway makes a wonderful, private base and WiFi is available so that you can keep up to date as if you were in your office. Unlike most offices, however, is the enclosed patio garden with barbecue, seating and table and sun loungers to ensure your relaxation is complete.
Although described by Visit Britain as "studio style" when awarding the property 4 stars (excellent standard throughout) the property is spacious with seating and dining capacity for four. The property has been carefully equipped to ensure your comfort so that all you need to think about is how you will relax next. This extends to the parking, which can sometimes be difficult in some areas, but here there is a dedicated parking area to the front of the property safely secured behind the double gates.
On entering the Portland Hideaway it's clear you'll have a lot of space to spread out and enjoy yourself. The lounge is bright and airy with satellite TV with a selection of DVDs and a wide selection of books and games are provided. The bedroom area is a generous size with a double bed, wardrobe and dressing unit. The gas combination boiler was designed to cater for all the heating and hot water needs of a 4 bedroom house. This capability is reflected in the power of the shower, with its wide shower head that can wake you up in the morning, or calm you down after a long day of activity. For those who plan a romantic get away, champagne and chocolates can be provided on request.Read less

Like all Portland, there are several good walks. Head north along the coast, past the viewing point at Cheyney Weares, along to the beach at Church Ope and then then up past Pensylvania Castle to Portland Museum. Or head south, again along the coast, to Portland Bill and all that area has to offer or across the fields to Westcliff.
There is only the one pub in Southwell, the Eight Kings, that serves food at lunch and in the evenings.Read less
