Osprey House Portland is situated on the stunning Officer's Field development that was originally used to house the sailing teams for the 2012 Olympic Games. It has a large open plan layout perfect for large families who want to enjoy cooking, eating and relaxing together. With harbour views one side and Chesil Bank and beach the other you are close to the sea and are walking distance to the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy. Chesil Cove is about 3 minutes walk away as are a choice of pubs and restaurants.
The accommodation at Osprey House Portland comprises of a kitchen/diner with induction hob, double electric oven, grill, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and tumble dryer. There is a large rectangular table with seating for seven. There is a utility room and cloakroom with toilet and basin. Bedroom one is a single with single truckle bed. Up the stairs to the first floor where the lhe lounge has two vast sofas, TV, CD player and WiFi. Bedroom two has a single bed and the bathroom has a bath with shower over, basin and toilet. Up to the second floor to bedroom three which is the master bedroom. It has a kingsize double bed with a small patio terrace. Bedroom four has bunk beds and the shower room has shower, basin and toilet.
Outside there is an enclosed garden with lawn and patio. Your fuel, power, bed linen and towels are all included in the price.
Fortuneswell covers quite a large area, really from the Heights Hotel at the top of the island with its amazing views along Chesil Beach to the bottom of the hill where it blends into Chiswell. As you descend from the Heights you will see a statue by artist and sculptor Joanna Szuwalska title "The Spirit of Portland". Fortuneswell has many shops and along High Street you will be able to find "Isle of Portland Statues" for sale, all hand made.Read more
Once again the walking from Fortuneswell is good but do remember you are on a slope so even if the walking is easy on the way down remember the walk back! Chesil Beach is easily accessable from Fortuneswell, but turning up the hill gives you many different options for some interesting walks to the top of the island.
There are several pubs, restaurants and takeaways all available within Fortuneswell so you should find something to suit both your taste and pocket and all within walking distance.Read less
